Cycling DNA Tshirt...what's that about? Recently, for no particular reason, we were having a discussion on nature versus nurture when discussing children. Since we're cyclists the conversation, as usual, trended toward cycling. So the question was restated, are cyclists born or are they created? Or does cycling in and of itself change your DNA.
Anecdotally we all know someone who barely rides and then gets out there and crushes it. We hate these cyclists. I have to train hard to be fast and this punk rides a couple of times a week and can hang. No, I'm not bitter... So yea, there are some people that are just naturally gifted when it comes to cycling.
But for most of us, training is the only way to get fast. And with all of those hours on the bike, cycling intertwines with every aspect of your life. Your picking out new routes, drooling over those new carbon rims and wondering just how much faster you'll be with that aero frame. You time your coffee consumption based upon your training. Should you have that third beer because you have to be up at 7a.m. to ride (ridiculous on 2 counts...I never ride at 7a.m. and I always consume that third beer).
So cycling becomes a part of you. It pulls at you. Whether it's the trail or the road, a part of you wants to be on your bike and that's what this Cycling DNA TShirt is all about. Cycling becomes a part of your DNA. Ride! (and buy this t-shirt :) )
